It is a classic road that climbs with a logical path for large cengie, overcoming exposed traits but well equipped.
Despite the relative proximity to the town of Cortina, the remarkable elevation requires a good workout.
This is a very popular classic climbing route that climbs past exposed but well equipped features. The view over Cortina and the Boite Valley is incomparable.
The well-marked path starts in front of Albergo Fiames and leads through the woods to a dirty road (former railway line). You walk along the road to the right for a few meters until you meet the path that climbs to Pine trees to a gravelly channel.
You follow that channel and then you exit to the left to reach another gully that leads to the base of the west where a metal plaque indicates the beginning of the Ferrata (1 hour from the car).
The railway crosses to the right along a wide ledge the west wall. This first section has no difficulty and leads to the base of an oblique ramp with chimneys and cracks where the first metallic cables meet. You follow the cables paying attention to the rock at times a little slippery. You pass a chimney slit and after some exposed stretches, you reach a second system of ledges that lead to the right through pine trees up to an edge.
Some equipped jumps lead to the base of a steep black wall that is exceeded with the help of a staircase and steps (exposed). Then the metallic cable allows you to overcome the last jumps up to the rocks that lead easily on top of the Punta Fiames.
Go down to the North-east along a path with some rock and then cross to the right (east) until the Forcella del Pomaganon (2178m). To the south-east, the large gravel channel is rather steep, but it allows you to descend easily. Reached the end of the canyon near the first Pine trees, you come across a first signal. Continue along the canyon until a second indication. To go to Fiames you will follow the trail 208.
